BookPoint Privacy Policy
1. Who this policy is for
This policy explains how BookPoint ("we") handles information about the businesses that use BookPoint, the people who work for them and use the panel, and visitors to the BookPoint website. Each business has its own privacy policy for its customers, shown on its booking site.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: business name, type of business, time zone, web address, and the name, email address and password of the owner and of the users the business invites.
- Business information: what the business adds to BookPoint, such as services, prices, opening hours, team members, texts and images.
- Billing information: the plan chosen and the status of the subscription. Payments are handled by our payment provider (currently PayPal); we do not receive or store card or bank account numbers.
- Technical information: the IP address, browser and pages used, recorded by our servers to keep the service secure and working.
- Mobile app: if you use the BookPoint app, the name of the device you sign in from and when the session was last used, so you stay signed in and the session can be closed. The app keeps a copy of what you view, encrypted on the device, so it can be read without a connection; it is erased when you sign out.
- Agreement records: the version of our terms and of this policy accepted at sign-up, and when.
3. How we use it
We use this information to provide and secure the service, to create and manage accounts, to charge plans, to send messages about the account (such as the welcome email, payment reminders and important changes), to answer support requests and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Your customers' information
When your customers book with your business, the information they give (such as name, phone, email, appointment details and, for visits at their address, that address) belongs to your business. We store and process it only to provide the service to you: showing it in your panel, sending the confirmations and reminders you have set up, and keeping it secure. We do not use it for our own purposes.
7. Security and retention
Information is sent over encrypted connections, passwords are stored in a form that cannot be read back, and each business can only access its own data. We keep account information while the account is active and for a reasonable period after it is closed, so the business can recover or export it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Deleting the business. The owner can delete the business from the panel or from the app (My account → Delete business). The business closes at once: its booking site and panel stop working, every session is signed out and the subscription is canceled. Thirty days later we delete its users, customers and their accounts, appointments, team, notices, consents, analytics, activity log, site content and uploaded files. Within those thirty days the deletion can be canceled by replying to the confirmation email. Invoices, credit notes, payments and refunds, with the details they were issued with, are kept for as long as tax law requires. Instructions: bookpoint.dconext.com/legal/delete-account.
8. Your choices and rights
You can see and update your account information from your panel and download your business data at any time. Depending on the state where you live, you may have the right to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, reply to any email we have sent you or contact us through the BookPoint website.
9. Children
BookPoint is a service for businesses and is not directed to children under 13.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we will tell you by email or in your panel before the change takes effect.
